Emily has been creating floor pieces since her degree show at Camberwell School of Art before the onset of Digital Printing. These installations, screen-printed onto vinyl floor tiles often took weeks to complete. These early pieces examined the role and position of the viewer in an exhibition context. Full engagement and interaction of such art pieces often occurring not as the viewer literally walks over the piece; but when the viewer is somewhat more distanced and viewing takes place from the top of the stairs for instance where this "distancing" allows the art piece's power to be fully appreciated.
