Integral to Emily’s work is the involvement of the community, which feeds and structures the finished Artworks.  Summerfield has an amazing mix of different communities all living together, therefore this project aimed to look at Visions of Home.  Working with Creative Writer Maria Whatton workshops took place within the community.  Participants were asked to visualise what ‘home’ meant to them.  Pupils from the local schools were asked to describe ‘magical homes’

The literary ‘homes’ created during the workshops have then been photographically visualised by Emily Campbell and form an enormous photographic banner on the external entrance to the Health Centre. 

As the visitor moves through the new site, the circular images of the ‘homes’ will be laid as ‘islands’ into the flooring of the new Health Centre.  As the visitor walks over the pieces they become integrated into the artworks, belonging for just a moment to a different ‘home’.
